Travel Grants for UCLA Graduate Students
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Studies Program can offer financial assistance to UCLA graduate students who present LGBTQ-related work at a conference. Our Travel Grants are intended to support LGBTQ scholarship at UCLA and enable graduate students to share their research with audiences beyond our campus.
A faculty committee will review all applications for merit, relevance to LGBTQ Studies, and the student’s academic achievement and progress toward degree. The program may award up to $350 per student, depending on the number and quality of applications received annually. Priority consideration is given to first-time applicants. Students may apply for funding to offset conference registration and transportation expenses; requests for meal and/or lodging expenses will be automatically denied.
Applicants must be UCLA graduate students who are registered and enrolled during the quarter in which travel occurs. Students who request summer travel funding must be registered and enrolled during the following Fall Quarter. Applicants must be a listed author of the work, and must present the work at the conference. The work must be LGBTQ-related.
